Opening notice controls
The Submissions page states the eligible genres, audience, word range, requested text, window status, simultaneous-submission policy, response target, and retention period. The current public notice and these terms apply together. Server-side controls determine whether an application can be accepted.
Ownership and permission
Writers retain ownership of submitted work. The submitter must own or control the material and have authority to submit it. Submission alone grants only the limited permission needed to receive, store, secure, and evaluate the material during the stated review period.
No offer or fee
Receipt, verification, review, or a request for additional material is not an offer or promise of publication. 13 Scions will not charge a reading fee. Any publication relationship requires a separate written agreement negotiated and signed by the relevant parties.
Confidentiality and similar material
A submission does not create a confidential, fiduciary, or nondisclosure relationship. Fantasy works may share ideas, themes, settings, and conventions, and the press may independently receive or develop material with similarities. Access to query editorial material is nevertheless limited to the private editorial workflow.
Text-only intake and security
This window accepts structured text only. Do not submit files, cloud-document links, passwords, financial information, government identifiers, or other sensitive personal information. Binary attachments and oversized requests are rejected before editorial storage. Query editorial text is held in private server-side records and is not written to ordinary delivery logs.
Status, withdrawal, and deletion
Accepted queries receive a unique reference on screen. Editorial correspondence is sent to the application email address. To correct or withdraw a query, use the Contact page and include that reference. Records may be retained for the period stated in the Privacy Policy, with limited security, legal, or duplicate-prevention records retained where reasonably necessary.
