Fantasy with command, consequence, and a distinct creative vision.

A compelling novel comes first. Worldbuilding should shape character and conflict rather than substitute scale for story.

Current planning range: 80,000–180,000 words for adult fantasy. The opening announcement will state the final eligibility, sample length, simultaneous-submission policy, and response expectations.

What authors can expect

A professional relationship, not a paid service.

13 Scions intends to operate as a traditional independent press. Acquired authors will not be charged reading, editing, design, or publication fees.

Ownership respected

Submitting work will not transfer rights. Any acquisition requires a separate negotiated written agreement.

Clear status language

When intake opens, authors will receive verification, a reference number, status access, and a defined withdrawal route.

Purposeful rights

The press’s general philosophy is to request only rights connected to publishing work it can responsibly develop.

Editorial care

Acquired authors can expect substantive attention, professional production, and direct communication about the path to publication.
